Professionally: I’m reading “Deep Work” by Cal Newport. It’s an instructive breakdown of how distracted we are in the world of social media, texting and email. It’s surprising to see how much more productive you can be by occasionally unplugging and focusing on the big initiatives; allowing your brain to be creative again. Hopefully our newsletter is a useful distraction in your busy life.
I’m also reading “Compact Heat Exchangers” by Kays and London. Haven’t you always wondered about the flow of energy in complex heat exchangers? LOL
For Fun: I’m reading “Astrophysics for People in a Hurry” by Neil DeGrasse Tyson. A quick little read to better understand everything you don’t know about space by America’s beloved astrophysicist!
Podcasts: “Revisionist History” by Malcom Gladwell is a nice complement to Clint’s recommendation (Hardcore History; my all-time favorite). If you like Gladwell’s books (Blink, Outliers, Tipping Point), you’ll love his podcast!
Bill:
Professionally: I recently read “The Truth about Your Future: The Money Guide you need Now, Later and Much Later” by Ric Edelman. Ric discusses how technology and research could change how you plan for your financial future, and how planning in the future will change.
For Fun: I am reading “Wines of Italy”. I enjoy learning more about where the wine I drink comes from.
