Stop in to Columbus’s newest pizza sensation, Paulie Gee’s! Paulie Gee’s Short North Pizzeria opened recently in Columbus. Plans for the expansion of the Brooklyn based chain have been in the works since late 2013. Investors that helped bring the restaurant to Columbus include Mark Fissel’s sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Shawn Vadala. Paulie Gee’s features a wood-burning Stefano Ferrara oven used to cook their unique pizzas!

Groundhog Day
Groundhog Day was brought to America by German immigrants in the 19th century. Predicting the length of winter based upon whether or not an animal saw its shadow was common among German immigrants who settled Pennsylvania. Back in the old country they relied on badgers and bears. Europeans marked winter’s midpoint on Feb. 2 by celebrating Candlemas Day, a festival of lights that also included predicting the arrival of spring. Read More
